The Gift of Connection

Do you choose to connect with others or disconnect? Do you connect to your own inner spirit, or do you distract yourself away from listening to the soft voice of your inner truth?

Unless we live in absolute seclusion, there will always be opportunities to connect with others we share space with in the world. When we connect with others, we receive the gift of seeing the truth of who others are. We also get to witness our own light in the eyes and the hearts of those we are connecting with.

As human beings, we thrive when we are out connecting with the people we are surrounded by. We also receive a sense of peace and clarity when we regularly listen in and make it a priority to have a strong connection with our inner selves. When we are truly connected to who we are, we lead our lives from this truth. From this place, we do not need to seek and search for truths outside of ourselves to feel okay – we know we are okay. When we know we are okay and all is well, we can reach out and touch people’s lives in a meaningful way because we aren’t needing to receive something from others. When we don’t have an agenda in our interactions, we receive the full benefits of being present and open to witnessing who people really are.

Sometimes we can go through life feeling disconnected, lonely or misunderstood. This way of living causes suffering. The bright side is in knowing that we always have the option of ‘choosing’ differently. We can choose to strengthen the relationship we have with ourselves, and we can also at any time choose to look for the light and the truth in others – it is always there just waiting to be seen.

So what about you, will you choose to see and connect with others around you? Will you see the amazing light and beauty that exists within you?
