Different stages of life can feel fuller and busier than others. It is often during the most hectic parts of life that we need to adopt a self-care practice the most. Many of us can relate to the ongoing challenge of balancing a full life while not getting to the point of burn out. Often when time runs thin, the first thing to go is the time we have allotted for an activity that is just for ourselves.
I can certainly relate to this pattern in my life, but I’m learning that I am my only advocate and self-care is within my control. While it can seem like a good idea to attempt to do it all, it generally won’t be long before the bottom falls out. As life gets busy, if self-care is the first thing to go, our sense of balance and gratitude for life can very quickly become lost in the mix
The next part is important, and that is to be sure that while you are doing these activities you really take them in and recognize that you are giving yourself a gift – remember to receive the gift and feel gratitude for that! Over time, the simple act of adding things to each day that bring you joy, is how we pave the way to creating a self-care practice that will stick.
Having a regular self-care practice softens the edges of a full life and can serve as a reminder to keep things in perspective. It can also help us to see and experience firsthand what a gift life truly is.
What about you, what things might you do on a regular basis as part of your self-care practice?

How do I self-care?
Not enough!
Thank you for this reminder.....the first item on my list is to reconnect with your program "Falling in Love With Your Life...." The first 3 weeks/lessons proved to be so helpful but somehow I got caught up in the daily struggles and stresses of my life.
I commit to carving out an hour every day for myself to reconnect today.
Thank you, Emily!
That's awesome Donna! It is always about re-contracting with ourselves to make ourselves a priority again - YAY you! Hope you have the most amazing day :) Em
