Happy Solstice

I wrote this poem today as a reminder to myself that:

  • It’s important to slow down and take in the quiet of winter.
  • All things in life are cyclical.
  • Darkness makes way for new light and beginnings.
  • Our light within must be nurtured and trusted always.

Happy Solstice

On this darkest day of the year,

may you lean into the comfort of quiet,

and let stillness ease lingering fear.

For all things in nature cycle around.

Darkness is a blanket, inviting us to lower the sound.

Remember, the light will rise and grow again.

Meanwhile, nurture and trust in your own bright light within.

Before long the darkness will ease,

new light and day will begin.

We will gather and celebrate our losses and wins.

Until then, rest, be still – recharge

The miracles of life will prevail – settle in.
