SetYourIntention

How do you set your intention?

What exactly is intention? I love to look at intention as a personal game plan for our experiences in life. We can set it to have a winning experience or a losing experience. It is powerful either way.

When we add a bit of self-awareness into the mix, it is interesting to see how we can tweak our intention towards having the experience we wish to have in our moments, days and weeks.

One practice I am enjoying, is to start my day setting an intention by choosing 3 key things I will accomplish in the day. I jot down a few notes as to how those 3 things relate to my bigger picture of what I am working towards. Another powerful thing I do is to write a quick reflection on how this intention or game plan for my day will result in experiencing the feeling I most enjoy in life. For me that feeling is usually gratitude.

Starting the day by hopping into the driver’s seat and setting the intention for your day is an incredibly empowering practice.

This isn’t to say that things still won’t come up in life, of course they will. Unexpected life stuff may still take the game plan off course. In my experience, I have noticed that setting myself up to have an experience and feeling, helps me to continue looking for that feeling in the different interactions and things that come up in the day, even when they go off course.

I find that having a daily intention and game plan gives me a much better chance of experiencing joy, gratitude and a sense of accomplishment, than the alternative of just winging it and seeing what will unfold.

What about you, what sort of intention will you use in your day?
