Never Underestimate the Power of Tiny Steps

While much of life is out of our control, it is refreshing to know that the way we choose to react and engage with life is something we can play with and practice in order to find our joy. This is sometimes easier said than done, especially when life deals hard blows or things turn out much differently than we anticipated or hoped. In these cases we can make a world of difference in our journey by taking tiny steps forward in the direction of the things in life that do feel good.

I am learning, that the steps we take or the way we engage with life doesn’t have to happen in big sweeping motions. We don’t have to pretend that what is real isn’t happening in order to move forward.

Life is never set in stone, it is always moving, changing, and offering new experiences. As long as we are here, we can choose to move with life at whatever pace feels right for us in the moment. Sometimes this will feel slow, and other times we may have more pep in our step – it is all okay.

It can be inspiring to remember that our journey can change direction. Glimmers of hope exist in our world that we can look to as a way of helping us take steps forward in a new direction. Sometimes these shining stars are the special people in our life. Sometimes igniting this light means bringing things back to a basic level by focusing on what is good about life. It is such a personal practice and one that each of us owns the creative license to design.

When we embrace our journey and focus on the good parts of it, I believe our light shines just a little brighter. This can make a world of difference to other people around us whose path may need some extra help illuminating.

Never underestimate the power of your tiny steps forward.  How might you be a beacon of light to someone special in your life today?
