Dream Big

Do you dream big? When was the last time you thought about what your biggest dreams include?

As much as it is sometimes uncomfortable and scary to admit, I have big dreams. Some of these goals and dreams are in motion, while others hover off in the horizon. When I think about the possibilities for the next stages of my life, and I include some of my deepest dreams and desires, I’m overcome with a feeling of excitement mixed in with a bit of fear.

I believe that a healthy amount of fear is good, and in the case of our big goals and dreams, feeling some of that is a great indicator we are embarking on a new adventure worthy of our time and attention.

There is certainly nothing wrong with being content with the way things are. The disconnect arises when we allow fear or self-doubt to become so loud that we stop moving towards our dreams, or we give up dreaming all together.

Whether we actually ever reach that big bright light of our dream or not, it is the journey of being brave and moving towards it where we enjoy the greatest reward. There is a huge difference in living life from the place of you never know compared to the mindset of it will never happen. At the end of the day, knowing that you had the courage to try anyway, is a much better feeling than being overcome with a sense of regret from not having at least tried.

So whatever your big dreams entail, give yourself the gift of bringing a little life back into them because you never know what can happen along this journey. If you know you will be okay no matter what the outcome, why not give it a shot?
