Heartfelt Living

Creating Pause to Connect

I See You – You Matter.

When we are out in the world sharing space with others, whether it is walking on the street, shopping for groceries etc. we usually have the opportunity to come into contact with others doing the same thing. Yet, too often there is a tendency to busy ourselves or distract ourselves with our smart phones or stories and To Do’s that the opportunity to connect with others is missed. There is nothing like being genuinely seen by someone or taking a moment to truly see another human being. The beautiful thing about connection is it doesn’t take enormous effort and concentration. We are meant to connect with others, it is a human need. Our smart phones can’t replicate that feeling. Today while you go about your day, see what happens when you create pause to notice another. Acknowledge the person you are standing beside in a line up or the store clerk who is actually really there and would probably be delighted and surprised to have more people put their phones away and say good day. Marvel in the human gift of connection. Have a wonderful day.
