What do you fuel your body with?
How we take care of our body has an enormous impact on our overall quality of life.
The kind of food we fuel our bodies with can give us energy and a vibrancy to get out there and make the most of the moments in our day. Other food choices can leave us feeling depleted, depressed and not feeling great in our bodies.
I find that when I eat whole, live foods and be careful to steer away from processed foods (packaged foods, sugar, white flour etc.) I feel good in my body and go about my day with a clearer mindset and enough energy to keep up to the pace of my family.
Making small changes toward a healthy lifestyle has its benefits. Sometimes if we try to make too many changes too quickly, there can be a sense of feeling overwhelmed and we give up all together if the change feels too hard. Making one small change at a time makes it easier to adapt and create habits that stick over the long haul.
When I am looking for a healthy boost in what I fuel my body with, I focus on one thing for a week. Some examples include: being conscious of increasing my water consumption, making sure I am eating enough throughout the day so that I am not starving at the end of the day, limiting my sugar intake, eating more greens etc.
Small change makes big change and when it comes to our health and well-being, we are all worth the effort of investing in ourselves.
